Carax feature set to star Denis Lavant; Arte also backing Gustave Kervern and Benoit Delépine’s latest comedy.

Arte France Cinema has boarded three upcoming productions including Leos Carax’s Holly Motors which will star Denis Lavant.

“A film with a film, the story follows one character and his multiple lives over 24 hours, murderer, liar, CEO, monstrous creature, or family man,” the Paris-based film arm of the Franco-German broadcaster said in a statement on the results of its latest funding round.

The film, produced by Pierre Grise Productions, is due to shoot in the Paris region in August and September.

Arte said it had also boarded directorial duo Gustave Kervern and Benoit Delépine’s latest comedy Le Grand Soir, starring Benoit Poelvoorde, Albert Dupontel, Brigitte Fontaine and Areski Belkacem. Produced by GMT Productions, the film is due to shoot from July 4 to August 9 on France’s Atlantic Coast.

Carlos Reygadas’ upcoming Post Tenebras Lux, produced by Le Pacte, will also receive Arte funding.
