Thai production and sales outfit Five Star Production is unleashing four new high-profile titles at Cannes, including 3D horror film Dark Flight.

One of the first 3D films to emerge from Thailand, Dark Flight is being put together by the seven filmmakers who co-directed hit horror film Art Of The Devil 2. One of the seven, Kongkiat Komesiri, wrote the script, while another, Issara Nadee, is directing.

The film, which is scheduled for release in Thailand this autumn, follows a flight attendant who is haunted by the victims of plane crashes.

Meanwhile, Kongkiat has also scripted Five Star’s Tai – a Muay Thai action film to be directed by well-known Thai producer Sirisak Koshpasharin (Fireball). Currently in pre-production for a spring 2012 release, the film follows a young boy avenging the death of his parents and protecting his village.

Also new from Five Star are omnibus comedy Loving You Loving Me, which opens in Thailand this week, and action title Edge Of The Empire, produced by Thai studio and facilities company Kantana Group.

Loving You Loving Me is co-directed by Pirasak Saksiri, Putipong Saisrikaew and Sayombhu Mukdeeprom who was DoP on Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s Palme d’Or winning Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives.

Released in Thailand last year, Edge Of The Empire is directed by Nirattisai Kaljareuk who also played a small role in the Pang Brothers’ Bangkok Dangerous alongside Nicolas Cage. Five Star and Kantana previously co-produced Wisit Sasanatieng’s The Red Eagle, which Five Star is also selling.
