Along Came Polly held on to the top spot in its second weekend on release despite its gross dropping by over half, although admittedly the original result was for a five-day holiday weekend and the figures have now reverted to the usual four days.

The UIP release did A$1,436,260 from 202 screens compared to second placed The Last Samurai with A$1,274,409 from 273 screens in its third weekend for Roadshow.

The two new films which made it into the top 20 were 20th Century Fox's Out Of Time, which opened in sixth position with a gross of A$560,778 from 149 screens, and Columbia TriStar's Big Fish, which earned A$357,017 to claim the eleventh position but is only on previews.

Three films rose in the chart. Something's Gotta Give grabbed third place in its fourth weekend with revenues of A$1,188,345 from 221 screens for Roadshow. 21 Grams, also handled by Roadshow, attracted ticket sales worth A$468,742 from 40 screens in its second weekend, earning it a place among the top ten and giving it the best screen average in the chart. The third film was UIP's Lost In Translation, which is now in its sixth week. Also note Mystic River's resilience.
