The former New Line executive and producer kicks off his boutique domestic operation with the upcoming Tribeca premiere The Playroom starring John Hawkes.

Straus will continue to work alongside production and management company Circle Of Confusion and his production company Billy Goat Pictures will remain a separate entity.

“BGP is a boutique sales company focused on quality over quantity,” Straus said. “Because of our size, there will be a premium on client attentiveness and long-term strategies when necessary.”

The Playroom is set in 1970s suburbia over the course of a boozy dinner party while the children spend the night in the attic telling each other fantastical stories. Julia Dyer directed and Molly Parker and Olivia Harris also star.

Straus’s producing credits include The Last Rites Of Joe May, Weapons, and the upcoming Straight Outta Compton.
