Propelled by the Twilight finale and buoyed by the merger with Summit, Lionsgate’s international division scored a mighty $1.251bn at the box office.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 was the top earner on $524.7m for the calendar year. The film remains in release and had reached $532.5m internationally and $820.6m worldwide by Jan 8.
The Hunger Games grossed $284.8m, of which $15.3m came from Warner Bros in Spain.
Summit’s Step Up Revolution amassed $105.9m. Universal and Disney territories generated $26.7m of that amount.
Hope Springs remains in release and has produced $47.6m so far while What to Expect When You’re Expecting grossed $44.5m in 2012 and also remains in play.
Rounding out the top earners were Summit’s Man On A Ledge on $33.2m, The Possession on $32.2m, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D on $31.3m, Cabin In The Woods on $27.7m and Salmon Fishing In The Yemen on $26.9m.
