Five deals already closed and buyers lining up for other major territories.

Following packed screenings earlier this week, We Are The Night has provoked a mini-stampede among buyers in Santa Monica. Celluloid Dreams (handling international
rights) is fielding multiple offers from major territories (among them the US and UK) on the Berlin-set female vampire film.

The buzz on the title has been growing since the film’s screenings at the 43rd Sitges Festival last month where director Dennis Gänsel won the Grand Jury Award. Deals have
already been closed with France (Metropolitan), Spain (Vertigo), Russia (Film Depot), Latin America (California Filmes), Greece (Nutopia).

Many other territories are expected to be closed by the end of the market. Celluloid Dreams boss Hengameh Panahi has prolonged her stay at the market in order to wrap up the deals.

Celluloid has now organized an additional screening on Sunday morning, 9am at Mann Criterion 5. (The film is also screening on Monday at 1pm in the same location.)

We Are The Night is the story of 18-year-old Lena after she is bitten by Louise, leader of a female vampire trio that are as deadly as they are beautiful. Lena’s newfound vampiric lifestyle is a blessing and a curse at the same time. She relishes the freedom, the luxury, the parties. But soon the murderous blood lust of her comrades in arms proves too much for her, and she
falls dangerously in love with Tom, a young undercover cop.
