Jane Campion will head the jury of this year’s Mumbai Film Festival, which is scheduled to run from October 21-28.
Campion will preside over an all-women jury which also includes UK producer and head of the UK Film Council’s film fund Tanya Seghatchian, Iranian director Samira Makhmalbaf, South Korean actress Yoon Jeong-hee, who recently appeared in Cannes competition entry Poetry, and Indian actress and filmmaker Suhasini Maniratnam.
Organised by the non-profit trust Mumbai Academy of Moving Images (MAMI), the Mumbai film festival is striving to grow its international profile after Reliance Big Entertainment came on board as a backer last year.
Last year’s edition of the festival featured a Film Business Centre as a precursor to launching a fully-fledged film market.
