Emilio Ferrari’s Los Angeles-based production and distribution company Entertainment 7 has promoted Tara Wood to head of international sales heading into Cannes.
The company also announced it has secured independent funding for the $30m action epic Waco to be directed by Rupert Wainwright, with shooting scheduled to begin on August 9 in Texas through the company’s production arm A Plus Productions. Ferrari is producing with Lee Nelson.
Entertainment 7 most recently produced Baby On Board starring John Corbett, Heather Graham, Jerry O’Connell and Lara Flynn Boyle.
Prior to Cannes, Entertainment 7 secured an exclusive co-production deal with New York’s recently formed New York production company Berry Hill Films, which has a six-picture deal with Warner Bros.
The debut film to be produced under the new agreement is the $10m Sleepless Beauty written by Larry Wilson that has been scheduled to begin shooting in the summer. Ferrari will produce with Berry Hills Films chiefs Kevin Cain and George Alexandrou.
