HanWay Films has announced several new appointments to its sales team.

Charlotte van Weede (formerly Arnold) has joined as a joint Director of Sales with Thorsten Schumacher, a four-year HanWay veteran who has been promoted. They will share worldwide sales responsibilities and both report to HanWay CEO Tim Haslam.

Van Weede had been VP of international sales at Summit Entertainment and director of sales at Intermedia. She had recently been consulting for the Nelson Mandela Foundation in South Africa.

Also, Leslie Vuchot has joined HanWay as publicity and marketing manager, and Miguel Gonzalez has joined as marketing and distribution manager. Vuchot had been at Focus Features International in London and Gonzalez at Universal in London. Both report to HanWay's director of Marketing Jonathan Lynch-Staunton.

HanWay's Toronto line-up includes Nick Broomfield's controversial Iraq-set drama Battle For Haditha, which has its world premiere here on Sept 11.

Haslam said: 'I am thoroughly indulged with an ambitious and progressive young team. Charlotte and Leslie join us to complete a highly energised and cohesive group of executives who love film.'
