The Fast Five director Justin Lin will receive the CinemaCon Director Of The Year Award in Las Vegas on Apr 18, convention managing director Mitch Neuhauser announced on Tuesday
Lin directed Universal’s upcoming thriller Fast & Furious 6, which will open on May 24 and is currently in development with Universal on L.A. Riots, which centres on the Rodney King beating, as well as The Breach at Warner Bros, about an ex-special operative who protects a mysterious young girl.
“When Justin Lin calls for action on the set, you don’t just get action, you get ACTION, clearly evidenced by the three blockbuster Fast & Furious films already under his belt,” said Neuhauser.
“And come Memorial Day, Lin is set to take movie audiences for another thrilling, action-packed ride with the newest instalment in the hit franchise. CinemaCon couldn’t be happier to be honouring Justin Lin as its 2013 Director Of The Year.”
CinemaCon is scheduled to run at Caesars Palace from Apr 15-18.
