Short film festival runs Nov 8-11 in York.

Following its successful inaugural year in 2011, Aesthetica Short Film Festival has announced that Danny Cohen [pictured], McLeod Brothers and Barry Ryan are to host masterclasses at this year’s edition.

BAFTA-nominated cinematographer Cohen, who worked on The King’s Speech and more recently on Tom Hooper’s highly anticipated adaptation of Les Miserables, will host an insight into his work, while the BAFTA-nominated and award-winning McLeod Brothers will talk about animation. Warp Films’ Ryan will talk about the latest news in film production.

There will also be classes that address the difficulties of filmmaking, giving emerging talent an opportunity to find out how to survive in the competitive industry.

Last year, masterclasses were given by the likes of Ivana Mackinnon, Executive Producer of Slumdog Millionaire, and the Senior Commissioner for Channel 4.
