Two of this year's Oscar nominees Benicio Del Toro and Geoffrey Rush, together with acting legend Vanessa Redgrave, are all lining up to star opposite Juliette Binoche in Intermedia's period drama Assumption Of The Virgin.

Directed by Walter Salles, the film stars Binoche as a nun lured away from her convent by a man in 18th century Italy. Carolyn Choa is producing with David Lascelles. Mark Shivas, BBC's David Thompson and Anthony Minghella executive producing.

Meanwhile Intermedia has acquired international rights to Scratch, a hip hop documentary which screened in documentary competition at the Sundance Film Festival this year. Doug Pray directed the film, which explores the DJ world from the birth of hip-hop to the development of scratching and the recent explosion of "turntable-ism".
