Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA) has bought selected international distribution rights to upcoming projects from Spike Jonze and David O Russell.

On the as yet untitled Jonze project, SPWA gets all rights for Latin America, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, South Africa and Australia/New Zealand as well as pan-Asia pay TV rights.

Based on Jonze own script, the film stars Amy Adams, Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, Samantha Morton and Olivia Wilde. Megan Ellison, Vincent Landay and Jonze produce for Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures.

On the Russell project, also untitled, SPWA gets all rights for Latin America, Eastern Europe and South Africa and pan-Asia pay TV rights.

The film is written by Eric Warren Singer and Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper are in negotiations to star. Producers are Charles Roven and Richard Suckle from Atlas Entertainment and Megan Ellison and Ted Schipper from Annapurna. Columbia Pictures will distribute in the US.

Both deals were negotiated by SPWA EVP of business affairs Michael Helfand and SVP acquisitions Joe Matukewicz with Panorama Media, international sales agent on the two films.
