Andrew Herwitz has acquired worldwide sales rights to Lithuania’s official Oscar submission.
Kristijonas Vildziunas directed Back To Your Arms, which stars Andrius Bialobzeskis and Sandra Maren Schneide and is set in the aftermath of the second world war as young woman travels to East Germany to reunite with her father.
The film will receive its US premiere at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, which runs from Jan 5-16.
Tom Tykwer’s German thriller was a breakout for the director and his star star Franka Potente.
Total LA-based production shoot days were down 8.7% in Q1.
“Our real value add now is in terms of international sales,” revealed Oli Harbottle of Dogwoof.
