Morethan 40 international film distributors and TV film buyers will attend German Films' Munich Previews starting on Wednesday.

NewLine Cinema, Focus Features, the UK's Soda Pictures, France's MK2, Hungary'sBudapest Film, and Russia's Most Media are among the visitors to the event atthe Munich Filmfest.

Othercompanies confirmed include the UK's City Screen, Poland's Gutek Film, Mexico'sConstellation Pictures and Italy's Medusa Film.

Thebuyers will see world premieres of new films by Byambasuren Davaa (The Cave OfThe Yellow Dog) and Gordian Maugg (Zeppelin!).

Therewill also be the opportunity to view Angelina Maccarone's Unveiled (FremdeHaut) which will be premiered in competition at Karlovy Vary next month.

Theline-up also includes such recent local box-office successes as Til Schweiger'sromantic comedy Barefoot and Joachim Masannek's family film The Wild SoccerBunch II and brand new titles like Ed Herzog's Almost Heaven and ChristianAlvart's Antibodies.

The Munich Film Festival will also be the venue for a strategy meeting by thepan-European promotion organisation European Film Promotion (EFP) , on Saturday.

EFPmembers will come together with a number of European film professionals, includingproducers Pavel Strnad (Negativ Film), Jakob Claussen (Claussen & WoebkeFilmproduktion), and Margaret Menegoz (Les Films du Losange); distributorsStephan Hutter (Prokino) and Markus Zimmer (Concorde Film); and salesagent Thorsten Schaumann (Bavaria Film International), to discuss the futuredirection of the promotion organisation.

TheEFP event will look at the most effective strategies for promoting films andtalent at festivals in Europe and new ways of promoting European films on theNorth American market.

In addition, discussion will centre on whether EFPshould create its own events outside of film festivals such as the proposedEuropean Days in New York and how the organisation's "Shooting Stars"initiative can help the European film industry to develop a star system. (ends)
