Dot coms will invade the Croisette this Cannes Film Festival with several online companies firmly aligned with staple institutions such as The Cannes Market, The American Pavilion and MITIC.

Communications giant Intel is equipping the American Pavilion with a high-speed internet capability to support new sponsors POP.com, InternetStudios.com, ReporterTV.com, E! Online and On2.com.

Meanwhile the Cannes market and ShowBIZData.com have formed an alliance wih Florida-based streaming Internet provider ProWebCast to provide exclusive content and coverage of both market and festival related activities. The market and ShowBIZData.com have also formed a partnership with Montreal-based Spotvision to install two giant outdoor animated video screens on La Croisette. ShoBIZData.com has also created an Interactive Lounge in the new Riviera building where attendees and media can access their e-mail and conduct business online.

Creative Planet has chosen to partner with the MITIC (International Market for Technology & Innovation In Cinema) New Technologies Pavilion to launch the MITIC organisation's official website for Cannes. The website will spotlight "new technologies, innovative concepts and the pioneering filmmakers driving the significant changes within the cinema today."
