A hard hitting film about football hooligans starring Dougray Scott has gone into production in the UK.

Based on the best-selling cult novel by John King about Chelsea hooligans, The Football Factory is the first feature from Vertigo Films and is produced by Allan Niblo (Human Traffic, South West Nine) and James Richardson (Kiss Kiss (Bang Bang)). It is executive produced by Rupert Preston and directed by Keith Boak.

Starring alongside Scott are Sean Bean, Frank Harper, Andrew Howard, Christian Solimeno, Neil Maskell, Charlie Dale, Daniella Denby-Ashe and Buster Bloodvessel, The Football Factory is shooting for five weeks in London and South Africa.

Vertigo Films was formed in July 2002 by Niblo and Richardson.
