A new association, the European Film Commissions Network, met for the first time during the recent Cannes Film Festival.

Fifty film commissions from all over Europe had their first general assembly meeting during the festival and will continue to meet on a regular basis to share experiences and foster joint initiatives, according to Film France.

The association, open to all film commissions based in Europe, will elect a president this autumn when a complete programme will be established.

Initiatives will include networking meetings, the creation of information tools for producers, market studies and a common presence at industry events.

The new EuFCN will be based in Brussels.
