Fandango Portobello Sales has announced deals on Matteo Garrone's Gomorrah ahead of its competition debut. The UK's Optimum has acquired the film while Prokino has taken it for Germany and Austria.
The film is also sold in Turkey (AFS), France (Le Pacte), Benelux (ABC Distribution), Switzerland (Filmcoopi) and Canada (Seville). It is based on the non-fiction bestseller of the same name by Roberto Saviano about the Naples mafia. Saviano has been living under police protection since its publication, following death threats he received for his collaboration with the authorities against the organization.
