Nick Meyer is assembling the initial slate on his Los Angeles-based international sales company Sierra Pictures and is talking to buyers in Toronto about Passion Play and Mother’s Day.

Passion Play stars Megan Fox, in town with the premiere of Jennifer’s Body, and Mickey Rourke, who plays a talented but down-at-heel trumpet player who finds love when he meets an inspirational young woman.

The project marks the feature directorial debut of Mitch Glazer, who wrote the screenplay and previously wrote The Recruit, Great Expectations and Scrooged.

Laura Bickford is producing and ICM is handling US sales. Production is set to begin in October.

Darren Bousman commenced principal photography on Mother’s Day last week in Winnipeg, Canada. Rebecca De Mornay plays the sadistic matriarch of a family of escaped prisoners who return to terrorise the occupiers of what they believe to be their former home.

Jaime King, Briana Evigan and Deborah Ann Woll also star. Genre Co’s Richard Saperstein and Brian Witten are producing with Rat Entertainment’s Brett Ratner and Jay Stern.

LightTower Entertainment is financing the film and Curt Leopardo, Jessie Rusu and Jon Zucker serve as executive producers.

Meyer, who departed as president of Paramount Vantage last December, will handle all sales and servicing of the existing Kimmel International titles as well as future Sidney Kimmel Entertainment (SKE) projects.
