Films Distribution has acquired Happy Ever Afters by newcomer Stephen Burke. The film is the story of two wedding parties taking place in the same hotel at the same time and the collision of the two in what is being referred to as an Irish My Big Fat Greek Wedding with a hint of What's Up Doc'

Sally Hawkins will star in the screwball Irish comedy with shooting set to begin in April. Burke will direct from his own script while the film is produced by Lesley McKimm of Newgrange Pictures and co-produced with Christine Rupert of Germany's Tatfilm.

Films Distribution plans to begin presales in Cannes.
