Seoul-based sales company Finecut has picked up international rights to Poongsan, directed by Juhn Jaihong and produced by acclaimed filmmaker Kim Ki-duk.

A protégé of Kim, Juhn previously directed Beautiful which premiered in the Panorama section of the Berlin Film Festival in 2007.

Scripted by Kim, Poongsan is the story of a ghostly figure who is able to cross the heavily-guarded border between North and South Korea, which have been divided for over 60 years.
Poongsan delivers letters and articles for families separated by the border - but when his existence is discovered by government agents, he becomes a pawn to take on dangerous jobs against the other sides.

Produced and fully-financed by Kim Ki-duk Film, the film started shooting on Nov 4 in Korea and will be ready for delivery in spring 2011.
