Fortissimo Films has acquired worldwide sales rights to The Eye- Infinity, the thirdinstalment in the wildly popular Asian horror series.

The third film, just like the first two, will be directed bybrothers Danny and Oxide Pang and is set to start shooting this spring fordelivery in early 2005.

The Eye 2is set for release in Asia in March 2004 and will roll out in the rest of theworld during summer and the second half of the year.

The Eye - Infinity is set to be the most expensive of the series with a budget ofaround $5m to allow more digital special effects. It will again be produced byPeter Chan and his Applause Pictures, which appointed Fortissimo as salesagent.

The film tells the story of a group of young people who try toreach out to the spirit world only to get dragged in above their heads. Thetagline is "There's no end to what you can't see."

"The Fortissimo team has done a great job working with us toestablish a worldwide franchise for The Eye movies," said Peter Chan in a statement."We are pleased to continue our association with them on this new film whichpromises to be the most original and scary Eye to date."

"The Pang Brothers have established themselves as world-classmasters of the horror genre with their truly original visual style and rapidpaced storytelling," added Fortissimo co-chairman Wouter Barendrecht.
