Fox Star Studios is set to release the Danny Boyle-directed, Mumbai-set Slumdog Millionaire in India and Pakistan in January, 2009.

The English and Hindi-language film, starring Anil Kapoor, Dev Patel, Irfan Khan and Freida Pinto, will also be released in a Hindi-dubbed version entitled Slumdog Millionaire - Kaun Banega Crorepati' (Who Wants To Be A Millionaire').

Based on the novel Q&A by Vikas Swarup, the film follows a Mumbai slum boy whose life takes a quantum leap from begging on the streets to being a successful contestant on the game show Who Wants To BeA Millionaire'

The film has so far won awards at the Toronto International Film Festival, British Independent Film Awards and National Board of Review. It was released in the US on Nov 12 by Fox Searchlight and has grossed $5.3m to date.
