London's East End Film Festival will open April 17 with the city premiere of Roger Goldby's The Waiting Room.

The drama about the tangled love lives of a group of Londoners stars Anne-Marie Duff, Ralf Little and Rupert Graves. Sarah Sulick produced.

The cast also features Frank Finlay, Zoe Telford, Phyllida Law, Christine Bottomley, Adrian Bower, Daisy Donovan, Lizzy McInnerny and Allan Corduner.

'I am absolutely thrilled that we have been selected for the gala opening night screening,' Goldby said. 'It's a great way to introduce The Waiting Room to Londoners, as the East End Film Festival is such a vibrant and creative event.'

Goldby will be at the screening for a Q&A.

Other festival highlights for the 2008 festival (April 17-24) include

the UK premiere of comedy Ladies directed by Tomasz Konecki; Ulrich Seidl's Import/Export, documentary Children Of The Ghetto, Bruce McDonald's The Tracey Fragments, and Estonian director Veiko Ounpuu's Autumn Ball.

Michael Nyman will give a talk and present his own short films as well as Dorota Kedzierzawska's I Am (Jestem).

Comedy duo Noble and Silver will host the closing night and awards.
