Chris Coen's LA-basedHalcyon Entertainment has commenced production on its first film in Canada. Theproject Deepwater is apsychological thriller about a drifter who happens upon the town of Deepwaterwhere he is seduced into a twisted game of deceit and murder.

Lucas Black plays thedrifter with Peter Coyote, Mia Maestro, Lesley Ann Warren, Tommy Chong andXander Berkeley also in the cast.

Coen is producing, withPeter Wetherell acting as executive producer, First-timer David S Marfield isthe writer and director. Financing is through private equity sources.

Scott Kevan, whose creditsinclude Briar Patch and CabinFever, is director of photography onDeepwater which will shoot forfive weeks in British Columbia.
