The Producers Guild of America (PGA) has announced the finalists for its 2nd Annual Producers’ Challenge contest, which is being held in connection with next month’s Produced By Conference (June 4-6) in Los Angeles.
Finalists in the short film category include US/Denmark production The New Tenants, from producers Erika Hampson, Sam Bisbee, Christian Potalivo and Tivi Magnusson; US/UK project Off Season, from producer Jacob Jaffke; Irish short Runners, produced by John Wallace; and, from the US, Think Tank, produced by Jonathan Deiner.
In the studio webisode category the finalists are A Drop of True Blood, Fear Clinic, and Heroes: Nowhere Man.
The independent webisode finalists are The Consultants, Horrible People and Road to the Altar.
Judged by a panel of award-winning film, television and new media producers, the contest was created by the PGA “to help promote the work of emerging storytellers.”
The winning short film from last year’s inaugural Producers’ Challenge, UK entry Gone Fishing, went on to become short-listed for the live action short Oscar.
