Aleksei Popogrebsky’s How I Ended The Summer won the Chicago International Film Festival’s Gold for best film in the international feature film competition.

Hans Petter Moland’s Norwegian entry Somewhat Gentle Man and Jorge Michel Grau’s Mexican We Are What We Are shared the Silver Hugo special jury prize.

The Silver Hugo for best actor was presented to Youssouf Djaoro for A Screaming Man (France-Belgium-Chad), while Liana Liberato won the corresponding best actress award for Trust (US).

A Silver Hugo went to Daniel Burman’s Brother & Sister (Argentina) and one was presented to Mahamat-Saleh Haroun’s A Screaming Man for screenplay. Marta Mesaros received a Gold Plaque in recognition of her long and distinguished career.
