London-based sales agent iDream Independent Pictures has added Ocean Of Pearls, directed by Dr Sarab Singh Neelam, to its Cannes line-up.

Shot in Los Angeles, the film tells the story of a young US-born Sikh surgeon who finds that his religious beliefs of wearing a turban and beard make him the victim of racial profiling in the US. The cast is headed by Omid Abtahi and Navi Rawat, who feature in the CBS TV series Numb3ers, Ron Canada (Ugly Betty) and Heather McComb (CSI).

iDream, which is also involved in production and financing via its Mumbai-based parent company iDream Production, handles predominantly Indian films with international appeal, along with English-language films which are India-centric for the Indian and international markets.

Its Cannes slate also includes Santosh Sivan's Tahaan which is the first film to be shot in the troubled Indian region of Kashmir in 18 years. Sivan's Before The Rains opens in the US this week.
