Working Title Films startedprincipal photography on Monday for Joe Wright's Atonement, the follow-up to his debut film Pride & Prejudice.

In addition to thepreviously announced Keira Knightleyand James McAvoy, the cast also includes youngnewcomer Saoirse Ronan, RomolaGarai, Brenda Blethyn,Vanessa Redgrave, Benedict Cumberbatch,Patrick Kennedy, Juno Temple, Peter Wight, Daniel Mays and NonsoAnozie.

Shooting will take place in Shropshire, London, Grimsbyand Redcar. The film is set in the 1930s and 1940s as well as London in 1999.

Christopher Hampton wrotethe screenplay based on Ian McEwan's novel.

Tim Bevan,Eric Fellner and Paul Webster are producing withRichard Eyre, Robert Fox, Debra Hayward and Liza Chasin executive producing.

Wright will re-team with anumber of crew members from Pride &Prejudice, including production designer Sarah Greenwood, costume designerJacqueline Durran and editorPaul Tothill. Seamus McGarveywill serve as cinematographer and Ivana Primorac will handle hair and make-up.

Universal will distributeoutside of North America, where Focus Features will release.
