Georg Miros, head of marketing and sales at Leipzig-based Kinowelt Filmverleih since 2003, has left the company as of today to pursue new professional challenges.

Miros had been responsible for the successful release of such films as Deep Blue, Million Dollar Baby, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The March of the Penguins, and Soenke Wortmann's World Cup 2006 football documentary Deutschland. Ein Sommermaerchen during his time at Kinowelt.

Until a new distribution chief is appointed, Kinowelt's theatrical arm will now draw on the services of distribution veteran Veronika Morawetz as an independent consultant to advise on campaigns for forthcoming releases.
