Fortissimo Films has picked up all rights outside North America to Neil Young Trunk Show, directed by Jonathan Demme.
The film plays at Cannes tonight (May 17) as a special screening in the Cinema on the Beach section.
Produced by Shakey Pictures and Lookout Management, the film follows the staging of a Neil Young concert and is Demme’s third on the musician following Neil Young: Heart Of Gold and The Complex Sessions.
The deal for international rights was negotiated by Fortissimo’s Michael J. Werner and Lookout Management’s Elliott Roberts.
Fortissimo is also selling Demme’s previously-announced documentary project Marley, about the legendary Jamaican singer. The company has also previously worked with Young and Roberts on CSNY: Déjà Vu, which documented Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s 2007 Freedom Of Speech tour across the US.
