Writer/directorMark Jay has started filming his debut feature, Dolphins, in Brighton, UK.

Themovie is a teenage love story set in Brighton's custom-car culture and stars Emmerdale's Karl Davies, FootballFactory's Frank Harper, Popcorn's Layke Anderson and sees UK hip-hop singer Roots Manuva inhis first screen role.

Jay haspreviously made music videos, documentary films and the short You're Gonna Wake Up One Morning, alsoset in Brighton.

Dolphins is produced by Trudy Sargent andChristopher Figg, was developed in association with Screen South and is aCarnaby International/Arcade Films/Full On Film co-production.

Thescore is to be composed by Sacha Putnam, with additional tracks supplied byFatboy Slim's Brighton-based Skint Records.

Dolphins will be completed in late 2006.
