Five weeks of principal photography begins today (Nov 16) inLuxembourg and London on writer/director Mary McGuckian's (The Bridge of San Luis Rey, Best) contemporary urban satire Rag Tale.

Set in the ruthless world of British tabloid newspapers,McGuckian will produce and direct from her own original story.

Heading the international cast are Simon Callow, Lucy Davis (The Office), Kerry Fox, Rupert Graves, Ian Hart, David Hayman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Cal Macaninch, Malcolm McDowell, Bill Paterson, John Sessions AndSara Stockbridge.

Rag Talechronicles a week in the life of a tabloid newspaper in contemporaryLondon. Its tyrannical chairman andobsequious editor, who is also sleeping with the chairman's wife, battle forpolitical supremacy, using staff journalists as pawns in the power games theyplay out in the pages of the press.

Tom Reeve and Jeff Abberley are producing along withMcguckian. Romain Schroeder, Julia Blackman andGarrett Mcguckian serve as Executive Producers on behalf of The Carousel PictureCompany, Scion Films and Pembridge Pictures respectively.

Sydney-based Becker Films International are co-investing in Rag Tale and will handle internationalsales on the project.
