Ben Coren

EXCLUSIVE: Ben Coren, former Film4 and Misfits executive, has joined UK production company Jeva Films as head of development.

Coren will oversee an expansion for the London-based company, known for films such as The Lesson, Nina Forever and 7 Keys, following a £90,000 investment from the BFI’s UK Global Screen Fund in support of a new growth strategy.

This strategy will include collaborating with more Scandinavian and Indian diaspora talent and working towards co-productions with these territories.

Coren worked for 11 years at Film4, and was head of development from 2019, before becoming head of scripted at UK McQueen producer Misfits in 2024.

He has credits as executive producer on films including Molly Manning Walker’s How To Have Sex, Savannah Leaf’s Earth Mama, Mark Jenkin’s Enys Men, Karan Kandhari’s Sister Midnight and Dylan Southern’s The Thing With Feathers.

“We are thrilled that Ben has joined us to help deliver on our new strategy for company growth supported by the UK Global Screen Fund,” said Cassandra Sigsgaard, founder of Jeva Films.  “He brings a wealth of experience and talent relationships, and an impeccable eye for IP. He will spearhead the new slate of internationally geared projects, with a focus on both commerciality and supporting the vision of the exceptional talent we will be working with.”

“I’m really excited to get going on the new strategy at Jeva, and there’s a wealth of talent I’m looking forward to engaging with as part of our Global Screen Fund backed expansion, alongside working on the impressive line-up of projects on the existing slate,” added Coren.
