Gary Michael Walters, CEO of the production company behind Whiplash and Nightcrawler, has opened a London hub.
Svetlana Metkina is named managing director and Dominic Buchanan becomes vice-president of production and development.
Bold Films has also expanded its senior creative team in Los Angeles, hiring Lisa Zambri and Jon Oakes as senior vice-presidents of production and development.
“We are tremendously excited to open our offices in London,” said Walters. “A consistent presence in the UK and Europe will allow us to access a whole new group of exciting talent in the UK and Europe and help establish key strategic relationships with the major European distributors in film and television.
“Svetlana and Dominic’s passion, aggressiveness and talent will be crucial to expanding Bold Films’ slate to hit our four-six films per annum target.”
President of motion pictures Matthew Rhodes added: “Lisa and Jon both have impeccable taste and relationships. They will blanket the town to uncover the best projects and work hand-in-hand with our directors, producers and writers throughout the development and production process to shape each film into its best version.”
Metkina has been consulting creatively on Bold Films’ slate for several years. Buchanan was most recently head of film & original content at Stink Films.
Zambri was president of Vinson Films and before that ran New Line Cinema-based Contrafilm. Oakes rejoins Bold Films from Mad Chance where he was a vice-president. He brought Nightcrawler to Bold.
