Plan B, the powerhouse production company run by Brad Pitt, Jeremy Kleiner and Dede Gardner, has reportedly retained an investment bank to explore a sale.

The company behind critical darlings and award winners like Moonlight, Minari and 12 Years A Slave, as well as World War Z and this season’s prospects Women Talking, Blonde and She Said, is said to have hired Moelis & Co.

Pitt launched the company in late 2001 with his wife at the time Jennifer Aniston and took control after they separated.

Hollywood content creators have benefited from considerable investment and acquisitions of late. Earlier this year A24 took a $225m investment led by Stripes, while Candle Media bought Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine for $900m in 2021.

Neither Plan B nor Moelis & Co. had responded to press enquiries at time of writing.
