Amazon MGM Studios has acquired Morgan Neville’s Man On The Run and National Geographic Documentary Films has snapped up global streaming rights to Ghost Elephants ahead of the films’ premieres at Telluride this weekend.

Man On The Run, produced by Tremolo in association with MPL and Polygram Entertainment, explores McCartney’s creative rebirth after the break-up of The Beatles as he forms Wings with his wife Linda.

It will release in select cinemas before it is made available on Prime Video on February 25, 2026, in Prime’s markets around the world. Amazon sources did not confirm when the film will open or if it will be in contention for the upcoming awards season.

Producers include Neville, Chloe Simmons, and Meghan Walsh for Tremolo; Scott Rodger and Ben Chappell for MPL; and Michele Anthony and David Blackman for Polygram Entertainment. Executive producers include Caitrin Rogers and McCartney.

MATR Labs’ Liesl Copland brokered the deal on behalf of the filmmakers. Neville won the best documentary feature Oscar for 20 Feet From Stardom and his credits include Won’t You Be My Neighbor?.

National Geographic Documentary Films has picked up streaming rights to Werner Herzog’s Ghost Elephants, which premiered in Venice and plays Telluride this weekend. Screen’s Venice review is here.

Streaming premiere dates for Disney+ and Hulu in 2026 are yet to be announced. The film will also receive a theatrical release, with dates to be announced by Sobey Road Entertainment in the coming months.

Ghost Elephants follows conservation biologist Steve Boyes in Angola as he attempts to prove the existence of the elusive ghost elephants of Lisima, believed to be living descendants of the largest land mammal ever recorded.
