Digital Cinema Media (DCM) has appointed Rob Tomalin as head of business development at the UK market leader in cinema advertising. The move follows the promotion of Joe Evea as commercial director.

Tomalin will lead DCM’s new digital product development and focus on media owner partnerships and sponsorship, as well as develop new multi-platform, digital advertising possibilities.

“The power of the medium has never been questioned and the opportunity for existing and new advertisers has just got significantly better. I’m really looking forward to working with Joe and the team to create and deliver truly great solutions to DCM’s customers,” Tomalin said.

Tomalin has been at DCM since January 14, which he joined after working for Emap Consumer Media (now Bauer Consumer Media) in numerous senior commercial roles, one in which he directed the launch of the new strategic sales division, Emap2.

He began his career at ITV, working there for seven years before moving to Capitol Radio, where he was first a group account director and later the head of client development.

DCM is the market leader in UK cinema advertising, providing 2,903 screens at 484 sites for advertisers and selling 80% of the cinema advertising through exhibitors including Odeon, Cineworld, Vue, Picturehouse and several independent cinemas.
