
Dustin Hoffman, Juliette Binoche, Jeffrey Wright and Robert Richardson will all be honoured at the 60th anniversary edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF, July 3-11).
Juan Cabral and Santiago Franco’s The Match will open the festival, and Noah Segan’s The Only Living Pickpocket In New York will be the closing title.
Actors Hoffman and Binoche and cinematographer Richardson will each receive an honorary Crystal Globe for outstanding artistic contribution to world cinema.
Wright will receive the festival’s President’s Award.
The festival will screen The Graduate in honour of Hoffman, Certified Copy, Three Colours: Blue and In-I in Motion for Binoche, and Basquiat for Wright, while Richardson will join director Jana Hojdova in presenting Robert Richardson: The White Devil, a documentary about the cinematographer.
The festival has added Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick’s family comedy horror Family Movie, starring the couple and their children Travis and Sosie Bacon, as a special screening with the Bacon-Sedgwick family in attendance.
Harvey Keitel will also attend KVIFF for the third time to present Martin Scorsese’s 1973 crime classic Mean Streets.
Hoffman, Binoche, Wright and Richardson join Maggie Gyllenhaal and Jesse Eisenberg in being honoured at this year’s festival. It is a special edition for KVIFF, celebrating both its 60th edition and 80 years since the festival was first held.
