The Toronto International Film Festival’s (TIFF) Primetime section of international series has unveiled a line-up including Carrie, Mike Flanagan’s take on the Stephen King story, Below, a Josh Hartnett-led horror miniseries for Netflix, and American Hostage, a Shawn Ryan episodic thriller starring Jon Hamm.
The line-up takes in eight world premieres, one international premiere and one North American premiere, with one or two episodes to screen from each series alongside conversations with casts and creators.
Canadian project Below, set in a Newfoundland fishing town, will be the section’s opening night offering, and Carrie, a new version of the classic horror yarn from Amazon MGM Studios, takes the closing night slot.
Also in the selection are A24’s US horror-comedy Crystal Lake and season six of Apple TV’s UK-shot hit Slow Horses. From Australia comes 2.6 Seconds: Death In The Outback, from Germany Blindspot Berlin and from Brazil Oxygen Masks Will (Not) Drop Automatically.
