Enys Men, Pretty Red Dress and Quiddity Films are among the recipients of an additional 12 awards that have been issued by the UK Global Screen Fund (GSF).
A total of £502,882 has been allocated through the £7m fund’s international distribution and international business development strands. The awards are financed through the UK government’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), and adminsterd by the BFI.
Three of the seven titles receiving international distribution awards are represented by sales agent Protagonist Pictures – Mark Jenkin’s psychological horror Enys Men, the debut feature of former Screen Star of Tomorrow Dionne Edwards, Pretty Red Dress, and Adam Scarborough and Christy Tattershall’s documentary travelogue following British musician George Ezra End To End.
Former Screen Star of Tomorrow Emily Morgan’s London-based production company Quiddity Films is among the five companies receiving international business development awards. The support from the award will go towards staffing and development of a TV slate with international sales potential, following the company’s success with film credits including I Am Not A Witch, Supernova and Make Up.

The GSF launched as a £7m pilot in April 2021, to boost the international development and distribution opportunities for the UK’s independent screen sector following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. It has now given out 66 awards totalling almost £5m across its three funding strands (international distribution, international business development and co-production). To date, the fund has supported 11 international co-productions.
Earlier this month, the DCMS announced a further investment of £21m over three years (2022-25) into the GSF, to be administered by the BFI.
The international distribution funding strand is now open for a third and final round in the fund’s pilot year. Applications will close on April 6 2022.
