EXCLUSIVE: Buenos Aires-based FilmSharks has closed key territories on Sitges and Tallinn animation Dalia And The Red Book, dramedy The Bus Of Life, and Warner Bros’ local-language erotic drama and Spanish box office hit Ask Me What You Want.
Falcon has acquired all Middle East rights to David Bisbano’s stop-motion/ CGI animation while Movistar+ has acquired Spanish pay-1 and SVoD rights after Alfa Pictures previously took Spanish theatrical rights.
The film about a girl who finishes the book started by her late author father opened on digital platforms in the US last week through Vision Films, and talks are ongoing in the UK, France, South Korea, China, Italy, and Scandinavia.
The Bus Of Life, directed by Robot Dreams producer Ibon Cormenzana, has sold to 24 Bilder for German-speaking territories and Palace Cinemas for Australia and New Zealand and tells of a teacher diagnosed with cancer who gets a new lease of life on an inspiring bus ride to hospital. Talks are underway for the US, France, and China, among others.
Lucia Alemany’s Ask Me What You Want earned more than $2.5m in Spain late last year and FilmSharks has licensed Australia and New Zealand to Palace Cinemas and Taiwan to AV Jet. The film will stream on Max in Latin America and also in Italy, when the platform launches there in 2026.
