Morgan Freeman and Josh Hutcherson are set to star in the upcoming sci-fi thriller 57 Seconds with Highland Film Group handling international sales at EFM.

CAA Media Finance represents US rights on the story about a tech blogger who thwarts an attack on a tech guru and comes into possession of the latter’s ring, which allows the wearer to travel 57 seconds back in time.

Driven by revenge and with the guru’s support, the young man uses the ring to dismantle the pharmaceutical company responsible for his sister’s death.

Rusty Cundieff directs from a screenplay by Macon Blair based on the story by British author E.C. Tubbs. The film is a Curmudgeon Films and Revelations Entertainment production, produced by Griff Furst, Lori McCreary, Gary Lucchesi and Thomas P. Vitale.

Executive producers are Ford Corbett, Som Kohanzadeh, Yoram Kohanzadeh and Miguel Sandoval. Highland Film Group is co-financing 57 Seconds which is scheduled to begin production in April in Louisiana.
