John Gore, founder and chairman of John Gore Studios, producer Ciara Barry of Scotland-based barry crerar, and John Glencross, co-founder of Calculus Capital, have joined the roster of top speakers participating in the Screen Summit 2026: ‘Financing The Future Of UK Film’.
The third annual Screen Summit is taking place at the BFI Southbank on September 29 in London. Tickets are on sale now for £290+VAT.
Gore, who also runs the John Gore Organization, a leading live theatre producer in the US, is now also making a name for himself as a financier and producer of UK film and TV with his London-based John Gore Studios. It has brought several companies under its umbrella in recent years, including Hammer Films, Icon Film Distribution and Hilltop Screen and produced six original features in the last 18 months. Among these are John Madden’s Onwards And Sideways, which is making its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and the upcoming The Return Of Stanley Atwell, starring Nicholas Galitzine.
Gore joins the Summit following the departure of Hilary Strong as CEO from John Gore Studios.
Based between Belfast and Glasgow, Barry runs the barry crerar production outfit with Rosie Crerar. Their credits include the Sundance titles Girl, directed by Adura Onashile, Mikko Makela’s Sebastian, and Felipe Bustos Sierra’s feature doc Everybody To Kenmore Street. They are in development on Kathryn Ferguson’s documentary Matrescence.
Former investment banker Glencross directly oversees Calculus Capital’s media investment and finance activities. The company has investments in companies including Riff Raff Entertainment, Maven Screen Media and Wonderhood Studios, and provides gap financing and secured lending facilities to single UK productions including Pablo Trapero’s &Sons, Philippa Lowthorpe’s H Is For Hawk and Imran Peretta’s Ish.
