EXCLUSIVE: Korea’s K-Movie Entertainment is to launch sales at AFM on Korean director Jéro Yun’s action drama Secret Of My Father.

The film follows Tae-seong, an ordinary young man who becomes entangled in a series of unexpected events after discovering a secret his father has long kept hidden.

Principal photography began in November 2026 ahead of a planned release in 2027.

Park Hee-soon, of Park Chan-wook’s No Other Choice, plays the role of Gi-su, Tae-seong’s father. He is joined by EXO boyband member Suho who stars in the lead as Tae-seong following a main role in the historical drama series Missing Crown Prince. Ra Mi-ran, recently seen in Hi-Five and Citizen Of A Kind, plays Tae-seong’s mother, alongside Han Ji-eun, who takes a mysterious central role after appearing in The Intern remake, a recent number one box office hit.

Also making a special appearance is Park Myung-hoon, who won a host of awards in Korea following his breakout turn in Bong Joon-ho’s Oscar-winning Parasite.

Yun’s short, titled Hitchhiker, was selected for Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes Film Festival in 2016 where his documentary, Mrs B., A North Korean Woman, screened in the ACID sidebar that same year before going on to win Best International Documentary Film at Zurich Film Festival.

His first narrative feature, Beautiful Days, opened the Busan International Film Festival in 2018. His second, Fighter, won best actress and NETPAC awards at BIFF in 2020 before playing the Berlinale’s Generation section in 2021.

Secret Of My Father was selected for the Cannes Cinéfondation Residence and later received the Busan Award at the Asian Project Market (APM). It was also selected for the Korean Film Council’s (Kofic) 2026 International Co-Production Support program.

K-Movie serves as lead financier, Korean distributor and international sales agent on the project, presenting it alongside Michigan Venture Capital Co. The film is produced by Korean production company Gogostudio, whose credits include Ditto and Highway Family. It is co-produced by K-Movie Studio and France’s Zorba Production, the latter of whom backed previous films by Yun including Beautiful Days and Mrs B., A North Korean Woman.

K-Movie’s Korean slate also includes Seeking The King, a giant robot live-action sci-fi film set for 2027 starring Colony’s Koo Kyo-hwan; The Roundup 5, the latest installment in the hit action franchise led by Ma Dong-seok; and The Table: Day And Night, which opened BIFF this year prior to its local theatrical release on November 4, 2026.

On the international front, K-Movie has boarded the horror Amara from Troll director Roar Uthaug; an Indonesian remake of The Man From Nowhere led by action star Joe Taslim and directed by Kenji Tanigaki (The Furious); and Pendekar: Warrior with Iko Uwais of The Raid starring in the lead role.
