
Teoman Sayin’s Tapped won two awards at the 2025 British Urban Film Festival (BUFF), as the 20th anniversary edition drew to a close with a ceremony at London’s Genesis cinema on October 24.
Elijah Baker won the prize for best actor in a feature for his portrayal of a young autistic man navigating love and trauma in south London. Director Sayin received the award for best script supervision.
Christopher M. Anthony’s boxing drama Heavyweight, starring Jason Isaacs, Jordan Bolger and Nicholas Pinnock, won best UK feature, while Van Alpert’s Venice Beach documentary Skategoat, executive produced by Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk, won best documentary.
Ghana’s Harry Bentil walked away with the best international feature prize for thriller Letters To Goddo, about two university students who find a suitacase stashed with money that belongs to a dangerous criminal.
Boxing Day filmmaker Aml Ameen presented the honorary award to actor-filmmaker Femi Oyeniran.
