Giulia Prenna is attending Mipcom with the sales arm of her Mind The Gap Productions to kick off talks on a slate of five features led by Keoni Waxman’s rom-com The Modelizer.

The Los Angeles-based producer of 2021 SXSW drama The Fallout with Shailene Woodley launched the sales division during the pandemic and attended Cannes Marché with the new venture for the first time. She will bring the sales slate to the AFM at the start of November.

The Modelizer centres on a wealthy Hong Kong bachelor who only dates models and meets his match when he stumbles across a Brazilian model who refuses to play by his rules. The cast includes Byron Mann (The Big Short, The Man With The Iron Fist), Rayssa Bratillieri (Magic Of The Mermaid, Malhação Vidas Brasileiras), Nichkhun (Brother Of The Year, Big Hero 6), and Hana Hrzic (The Batman).

Prenna’s roster includes Amp House, a horror thriller currently in post-production that stars Brandon Perea (Nope) in the tale of a group of influencers in a collaborative “content house”, one year after the death of their friend and leader, who get drawn into a fight for survival with a masked killer. Kara Royster (Pretty Little Liars), Pedro Correa (My Dead Dad), Cassie Scerbo (Sharknado franchise, Truth Or Dare), Chris O’Neal (Greenhouse Academy), and newcomer Ana Osorio round out the key cast. Dame Pierre and Mike Ware are co-directing.

Action thriller Bone Cold follows a Black Ops sniper as he attempts to escape enemy soldiers and a sinister creature after a botched mission. Billy Hanson directs a cast of Jonathan Stoddard, Matt Munroe, and Trinity Jo-Li Bliss. The project is in post.

The Brink Of directed by Patrick Meaney is a completed musical romance about an indie pop duo who fall in love as their tumultuous band is about to break out. Nicolette Norgaard, Tim Hoffman, and Mina Tobias star.

Ethan Hickey’s romance Burden centres on a recovering alcoholic who strikes up a relationship with the former girlfriend of the man he and his brother killed in a drunk driving accident several years prior. The project is in post and stars Brenna Coates (Neon Lights, Cagefighter), Tim Dowler Coltman (The Expanse), Janet Porter (Remember, Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City). Gravitas Ventures holds all US rights excluding theatrical.

Prenna also announced that she has licensed territories on Luis Ismael’s historical epic 1618 about the Inquisition’s persecution of Portuguese Jews. After Samuel Goldwyn Films acquired the film for the US, Canada and Latin America, Mind The Gap has struck deals for France (Programstore), Scandinavia (Take One), and Middle East airlines (Skyline).
