EXCLUSIVE: Lisa Azuelos’ LOL 2.0: Anne’s Golden Hour starring Sophie Marceau, has sold widely for Ginger & Fed as it hits French cinemas this week.
The long-awaited sequel to 2009 box-office hit LOL (Laughing Out Loud), has gone to Benelux (Case Depart), Switzerland (Praesens Film AG), Central Europe (Prorom Media Trade), Italy (Europictures), Germany (Wild Bunch Germany), and Austria (Film Laden) Spain (Twelve Oaks Pictures) and airlines (Skeye inflight entertainment).
Marceau reprises her role as the family matriarch, now aged 55 and enjoying her newfound independence until her daughter moves back home following a failed start-up and bad break-up, and her son tells her she is about to become a grandmother.
Françoise Fabian and Vincent Elbaz co-star. The film is produced by Curiosa Films and Love Is In The Air. Apollo Films is releasing the film in France, where it garnered an estimated 100,000 admissions on its first day of release on February 11.
The original LOL sold 3.7 million tickets in France and was adapted as a US remake starring Demi Moore and Miley Cyrus in 2012, also directed by Azuelos.
