Netflix’s UK revenues exceeded £2bn in 2025 – putting the global streaming giant ahead of all the UK’s commercial public service broadcasters (PSBs) for the first time.

In the company’s UK accounts for 2025, published on Companies House over the weekend, Netflix reported revenue of £2.06bn – up 11.2% from £1.85bn in 2024. Its profits were also up 11.6%, from £47.8m in 2024 to £53.3m last year.

The accounts attributed the revenue growth to both a 7% rise in subscriber numbers and an increase in the average monthly amount each subscriber paid.

Crossing the £2bn revenue threshold means Netflix, which has operated in the UK since 2012, is now generating more income than any of the commercial PSBs.

ITV posted revenues of £1.9bn for its media and entertainment division – its channels business and streaming platform – in its most recent full year results, published in March. ITV PLC’s wider business, which includes ITV Studios, posted revenues of £4.12bn. The company is currently in the process of selling M&E to Sky as part of a £1.6bn deal.

Channel 4’s latest annual report, published in May, revealed revenues of £1.03bn, while 5’s most recent account, released in October last year and relating to 2024, show turnover of £314m.
